How to check if the HDX optimisations component is working in Teams

  • Once connected the status can be seen in Teams

How to check

Microsoft had hidded the status:

Teams Optimized

  • (1) go on the 3 dots near your avatar
  • (2) click on Parameters
  • (3) click on About Teams
  • (4) after few seconds the status should appear

Teams Optimized

Optimisation is working well

"Citrix HDX Optimised", it mean the Optimisation is running

"It was last updated on...", unfortunately this string had nothing to do with the HDX optimisations.. It concern the last time you checked the optimisation

HDX components are NOT working

Teams is showing "Citrix HDX not connected", the citrix API is loaded in Teams (which is the first step towards redirection), but there was an error in the subsequent parts of the stack. The error is most likely in the VDA services or the Citrix Workspace app.
It mean the Teams optimisation is NOT running
Check the version of the VDA, the Citrix Workspace App, reboot HVD and client Device. |

Teams is showing NOTHING about HDX optimisations , If you don’t see any legend, Teams failed to load the Citrix API.
Exit Teams by right-clicking on the notification area icon and restart.
Make sure the Studio policy is not set to Prohibited, and that the Citrix Workspace app version is supported. |

macOS: Teams not showing 'Citrix HDX Optimised'

In some cases, all the pre-requisites are in place with a macOS

  • HVD Virtual Desktop Agent is 1912 minimum
  • Citrix Workspace App is 2101 minimum

BUT it's not optimised.

on your mac (not on the HVD), Open a terminal and run the below command

You will be prompted for your macOS password, that's normal, the change need your confirmation

sudo defaults write com.citrix.receiver.nomas mtopEnabled -bool YES
